Innovation in Direct-Fed Microbials
The naturally-occurring microorganisms in American Biosystems’ Direct Fed Microbials are selected for fermentation stimulating factors and their ability to produce large amounts of digestive enzymes.
They are known as PRIMARY TOTAL FERMENTATION PRODUCTS because they are grown for a specific purpose and are not a by-product of another fermentation process. They are harvested only after they reach their maximum potential, which allows us to obtain the TOTAL fermentation product—not just the cells, enzymes or other parts. Each production is assayed for microbial plate count and enzyme potencies according to standard methods. Although there is little standardization in the enzyme marketplace currently, America Biosystems’ products are sold with minimum specifications—a differentiator from many competing products.
These PRIMARY TOTAL FERMENTATION PRODUCTS are used to supplement those microorganisms that are already present. Simply, they function as BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SEED CULTURES to seed the waste or animal digestive system with more efficient microorganisms or add ones that may be missing.
The term MICROBIAL/ENZYME is used to designate a combination product of these special strains of microorganisms as well as the enzymes and fermentation stimulating factors they produce during commercial growth.
Both DIRECT-FED MICROBIAL/ENZYME FEED BOOSTER and DRY and LIQUID SANITARY PRODUCTS are available from American Biosystems.
