Alkapro L 400 S
Product: A water dispersible preparation of Bacillus spp. which includes high concentrations of alkaline (serine) proteinase (protein digesting enzyme). Proteinases catalyze the hydrolysis of protein polymers into their component amino acids and peptides. While the complex polymeric protein in its original form may be practically insoluble, the amino acid components are more readily soluble or emulsifiable in aqueous solutions. Alkapro L has many applications over the pH range of 6.0-10.5. It is extremely resistant to the effects of chelating agents and detergents, this protease is very rigorous and non-specific in its degrading effects.
Purpose: As a concentrated source of hydrolytic, protein-degrading enzymes for use in industrial applications including xray film processing for silver recovery, industrial equipment cleaning and maintenance, in liquid detergents and prespotters, and many other applications where broad range proteolytic activity is desired.
Analysis: 400,000 protease CDU (Casein Digesting units) / g.
pH Optimum: 7.0-10.5, Activity range pH 3.5-10.5.
Method of Analysis: Proteinase-Modified FCC assay method (supplied upon request).
Appearance: Medium to dark amber liquid, slight odor. A concentrated, granular version is also available.
Storage Conditions: For optimal activity store in dry warehouse under 90°F. Half life under these conditions is in excess of two years.
Precautions: See above (storage conditions); avoid inhalation of dust of all concentrated proteinases and mists of liquid products (wear approved dust mask) as they elicit allergic reactions from susceptible individuals. Handle only after consulting material safety information sheet.
Package Size: 40 lb plastic pails, 240 lb plastic drums, and 440 lb polyethylene or steel drums.
